MEDIGAP
When it comes to catastrophic injuries like brain injury, the services that are not covered by Medicare can really add up. Fortunately, there’s a way to make sure these costs are covered.
It’s called Medigap. Medigap policies are insurance policies sold by private insurance companies. The main purpose of Medigap is to cover those things that aren’t covered by Medicare, such as particular services, co-insurance, deductibles, and other out-of-pocket expenses. But before you invest in Medigap make sure the numbers are going to work. If it looks like your out-of-pocket expenses would add up to more than the Medigap premiums, Medigap might be a good way to go. If you want to compare different Medigap policies go to www.medicare.gov and look under “Medigap.”
